Our default grayscale separation keeps the channel count as low as possible. That means fewer screens, simpler setup, and lower print cost — without sacrificing accuracy. The tonal values from your original artwork are mapped carefully so highlights, midtones, and shadows land where they should. If your artwork needs more depth or finer tonal gradation, we can build out additional channels on request. More channels means more control over how the tones blend on press — useful for detailed portraits or artwork with complex shading. Either way, the output is built to match the original as closely as the channel count allows.
